Waiting Chair is inspired by the concept of technological utopia—the belief that technology ultimately enhances human life. This work playfully examines

the intersection of convenience and absurdity by embedding a functioning toaster beneath the seat of a chair. User sits on the chair while waiting for

their bread to be toasted, when the bread is done, it sends signal to the user. The video shows this process, highlighting the tension of anticipation: Will

the toast pop out hitting the butt of the user? As the sitter remains in suspense, viewers, who also become part of the experience, collectively waiting for

an outcome that is both mundane and unexpected. Through humor and interaction, Waiting Chair questions our dependence on technology and the

ways in which it shapes our everyday behaviors.
